What did you miss at 2024 Solutions Day?
At 2024 Solutions Day, Artificial Intelligence was one of the major topics of conversation. Many of the educational sessions were dedicated to discussing AI and how organizations could leverage the tools to maximize their return on investment.
During Solutions Day, we discussed the importance of AI for associations and how it can help organizations make forward-looking statements to address pain points and enhance the staff and member experience. There are many ways your organization can choose to leverage AI.
Here are some of the top ways associations are choosing to leverage AI today:
- To increase efficiency
- To improve the member experience
- To boost membership renewal rates
- To drive non-dues revenue
How can AI help associations reach their goals?
During one of the Solutions Day sessions, Collier Faubion, Lead Sales Engineer at Nimble AMS, had a conversation with James Jankovec, Director of IT at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine about how predictive analytics and AI tools can help associations reach their organizational goals.
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) collaborated with Nimble AMS to make the most of its technology investment. Using Nimble AMS, predictive analytics, and AI tools, AOSSM staff worked to improve its membership retention and engagement rates. AOSSM liked leveraging Nimble AMS and the AI tools because they were user-friendly and easy for all staff to understand.
While AOSSM’s membership retention numbers were ultimately positive, the organization wanted to find ways to improve engagement and reduce lapses. AOSSM set aggressive goals to boost membership and chose Nimble AMS to get the job done.
Here’s how AOSSM leveraged Nimble AMS and AI to increase membership retention:
- Because Nimble AMS is built on Salesforce, AOSSM staff could easily create a membership lapse solution with the Einstein Prediction Builder, using clicks-not-code.
- AOSSM worked to track the best member data, gaining engagement insights, to help build the most helpful membership predictions. Staff collected records on member donations, purchases, LMS course completions, and more to understand lapse risk.
- After gathering enough data and completing the membership predictions, AOSSM learned that low membership engagement led to lapse risk. Missing profile information was the largest risk indicator. Early career members were also at risk of lapsing.
- With this valuable information in mind, AOSSM membership staff could build a proactive strategy to enhance member engagement, targeting at-risk members, and acting before lapse.
“I’m an IT guy, but not every organization has IT staff at their disposal to leverage AI or predictive analytics. It was extremely helpful for AOSSM to have user-friendly AI and predictive analytics tools available to use with Nimble AMS,” said James Jankovec, Director of IT, AOSSM.
Who is AOSSM and how will they continue leveraging Nimble AMS and AI?
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) aims to be the premier global, sports medicine organization for orthopaedic surgeons and other professionals who provide comprehensive health services for the care of athletes and active people of all ages and abilities.
With the success of its current membership retention prediction, AOSSM plans to continue leveraging Nimble AMS, predictive analytics, and AI tools. Moving forward, AOSSM will refine its membership lapse model, anticipate membership donation amounts, and the likelihood of members attending annual events.
